A Shaoxing economy and trade delegation paid a visit to South Korea recently. During their visit in South Korea, they visited some textile enterprises and markets. What's more, they promoted China Textile City.
In 1990's, 60% of Korean investment to China is in textile industry. In many Korean designers' opinion, China was an attractive market with great potential.
Now, there are over one thousand regular Korean businessmen and over one hundred regular organizations in China Textile City. After this trip, another six designers and brands will come to China Textile City. For most Korean businessmen, cooperation with China Textile City can gain most supports, which is the necessity for both brand and market expansion.
This visit to Korea makes Shaoxing textile entrepreneurs aware of the importance of fashion trend for textile industry. Moreover, China Textile City should embrace more famous international brands so as to lead the upgrade of local enterprises.
China Textile City is the largest fabric market in the world, leading in fabric sales. However, the downstream industry, apparel industry in Shaoxing is really weak without any famous local apparel brands.
At present, the most valuable parts of global textile chain are brands and technology. However, textile enterprises in Shaoxing lack of brands. So their profits are cut drastically. In order to increase profits, they have to extend industry chain and speed upgrade by improving design and marketing and increasing products' added value.
It is learned that half of registered businessmen in China Textile City have the ability to extend their business to apparel. Once they find a practical mode, their potential will be aroused.
