July 7, 2009, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm Charles David announced a voluntary recall of the modern women shoes from China, Spain and Italy.

The recall this time involves various kinds and colors of Charles David brand (item SAMPCHSHOE) and Charles David of California brand (item SAMPCDSHOE) modern women shoes, in women size 7 and 9. The items were marked on the original receipts. These modern women shoes were sold at the price of 22 to 80 dollars per pair in the Nordstrom Rack stores nationwide U.S. and Nordstrom stores in California during April and June, 2009.

About 3,200 pairs have been recalled this time. The reason is the heels of shoes can detach, posing a fall hazard to the consumers. So far, the Charles David has received an accident report from a consumer who suffered a minor bruising resulted from the detaching heel.

Therefore, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission suggests the consumers to stop wearing the recalled shoes immediately and contact the Nordstrom Rack stores and Nordstrom stores to return the shoes for a full refund. (Besty)
