On July 5, the utilization of Sanmenxia reservoir in the Yellow River s third regulation experiment of flow and sediment begins.Vice commander of the experiment and vice director of Sanmenxia Multi-purpose Project Administrative Bureau Liu Hongbin indicates that the assignment of Sanmenxia reservoir during the third regulation experiment of flow and sediment is to operate cooperatively with Wanjiazhai and Xiaolangdi reservoir,fully utilize the reservoir filling and upland water in order to make the density current factitiously in Xiaolangdi reservoir and produce the continuous discharge power to flush the siltation of Xiaolangdi reservoir,thereby , the objective of flushing and reducing the siltation will be accomplished maximally. After hearing the report about the ready preparation work ,director and commander Diao Zhaoqiu issues the sluicing order. Immediately, grand waves with sediments spurt from Sanmenxia reservoir. |
