Jiang Weisong from Nanning Municipal Seismological Bureau said that the emergency shelter covers an area of 360,000 sqm and is able to accommodate 100,000 to 200,000 people. It is the largest well-equipped emergency shelter in China so far, integrating three major functions of leisure service, city beautification and emergency shelter.

What are the functions of being an emergency shelter There is a blue sign on Shuangyong Road near Nanhu Square, which says Emergency Shelter with a picture of a running man and an eye-catching white arrow indicating the direction to the emergency shelter. Following the direction, there are notice boards of emergency medical treatment and fire extinguisher on the way. There are eight emergency evacuation areas in the shelter.

In addition, there are various emergency notices and road signs in the square. The shelter consists of 11 emergency services, including emergency headquarters, emergency evacuation areas, water supply equipment, etc. It is a complete network incorporating communication, power supply, logistics and information, so as to guarantee the normal operation and living of the people in the emergency shelter.
