A Safer Spring Festival Period

Nanning Municipal Government has recently revised

the Regulations of Nanning City on Management of

Selling and Setting Off Fireworks and Firecrackers,

which readjusts the restriction on setting off fireworks

and firecrackers and further defines the time for setting

off fireworks and firecrackers in the restriction zone:

4 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Spring Festival Eve,

7 a.m. to 12 p.m. the first to sixth days on Spring Festival,

and 4 p.m. to 12 p.m. the fifteenth day (Lantern Festival).

The Regulations specify that setting off fireworks and

firecrackers is forbidden in 11 kinds of places and zones,

and if anyone violates the Regulations and takes liberty

of setting off fireworks and firecrackers in the forbidden zones,

the public security department shall stop such activity and

collect a fine of more than 100 yuan but less than 500 yuan.

If anyone takes liberty of setting off fireworks and firecrackers

beyond the stipulated time period, such action shall be stopped

and a fine of more than 100 yuan but less than 500 yuan shall be paid.

If anyone sells the kinds of fireworks and firecrackers that are

forbidden in the restriction zones, such action shall be rectified

by the safety production supervision and management department

and a fine of more than 10,000 yuan but less than 50,000 yuan

shall be paid by the wholesales enterprise, and a fine of more

than 1,000 yuan but less than 5,000 yuan shall be paid by the retailer.
