Education Top Priority for Nanning

During the eleventh Five-Year Plan, Nanning allocated

a specific fund of 2.527 billion yuan to be used for the

construction of a number of new schools. By 2010,

12 primary and middle schools in urban area including

Binghulu Primary School have been newly built. Xianhu

School and Guiyalu Primary School in Qingxiu District,

Beihu Beilu Primary School in Xixiangtang District have

been put into use this year. Currently, 50 new primary

and middle schools are under construction or preparatory

work is being made.

The layout planning of primary and middle schools is in

pace with urban planning. And land preserved for education

use has exceeded the national standard so that the allocation

of education resources would guarantee compulsory

education of high quality and high standard and meet

the need of Nanning as the capital city and a regional

international city.
