Phoenix Tower was commonly called “Guxi Tower”, built by the prefect Guozizhang in the 13th year of Wanli Period of the Ming dynasty. 46.8 meters high, it has 46 meters of its enclosing wall, 7stories and 8 sides, all of which were built by stone bricks. Inside the tower, there ate spiral staircase by which you can step onto the top. There are antithetical couplets on the gate of the town, saying, “The jade pillar props the sky up and the phoenix flutters in the air which protect the prefecture and its people.
