Located on Carp Mountain, Jingmei Village, Jiaodong Town of Chao’an County, Sanyuan Tower was commonly called Jishui tower and was built in the 33rd year of Wanli Period of the Ming dynasty (1605). It consists of 7 stories and 8 sides; built by stone bricks and every story of plafonds were built up by stones and decorated with exquisite designs. The tower’s sixth and seventh stories were shaken and fell off during the earthquake in Chaozhou in 1918.
