A number of Chinese textile companies are set to relocate their factories to Indonesia. But these companies have been asked to establish themselves in one region, said Head of the Association of Indonesian Textile, Ade Sudrajat, during the Jakarta International Expo.
He informed that, a meeting was conducted with his Chinese partners to discuss the relocation plan. Chinese textile companies require about 350 hectares of land in Indonesia, wherein around nine factories could be set up.
While this establishment could offer employment to around 200,000 workers, each of these factories’ would require an investment of around Rp 50 billion for installing machinery. According to Sudrajat, Central Java is the perfect location for relocating the Chinese factories, while the follow-up industries could be located in West Java.
The Chinese companies asked about assurance of the land status, electricity and water supply, road access, telephone facilities as well as dirty water channels, at the location for their factories.
