Paula Cannon, Head of Design, and Leanne McLaren, Assistant Designer, from leading corporate clothing designer, supplier and managing agent, Incorporatewear Ltd., were in Paris recently to ensure that the company keeps fully updated with the latest fabric trends. The pair visited Première Vision and Texworld, two top European textile exhibitions, attended by both fashion and corporate clothing designers.
This was Leanne’s third visit to PV and her 2nd to Texworld. She said, “As a designer it’s important that we get inspiration from these fairs, not only with the fabric themselves, but also the prints and styles. We need to know where the fashion is going next season so that we can mirror retail trends in our corporate collections. As well as keeping up-to-date with new and interesting fabrics, the exhibitions are excellent for widening our fabric supplier base to ensure we can always offer our clients the very latest in fabric technology and design.”
Première Vision is part of Première Vision Pluriel (PVP), which comprises Expofil, Indigo, Le Cuir à Paris, ModAmont and Zoom by Fatex as well as Première Vision.
Visitor figures across PVP were up some 6.3%, which the organisers say is “… a performance that is a good omen for the economic evolution of businesses in the fashion world.”
Commenting on the fabric developments, Paula said, “Fabric choices seem to be becoming more relaxed. Subtle differences between tailored clothing and casual wear seem to be evaporating and there is a new energy and freshness coming forward. There’s a much softer feel around too: turquoise and water-colour hues.”
As well as visiting the fabric shows in Paris, members of the design team also visit shows in China and undertake factory visits to suppliers in the UK, Europe and the Far East.
Incorporatewear’s blue chip client portfolio includes, Barclays Bank, HSBC, South West Trains, Premier Inn and Balfour Beatty and April sees the company launch the 2010 collection for the Nationwide Building Society.
