Although the Middle East's feedstock advantages are well documented, it has not been immune from the effects of the global economic downturn. Many developers have been forced to down tools, even if only temporarily.
However, signs of recovery have brought renewed optimism and construction has picked up again. As a result, many projects are seemingly back on track.
