On January 12, 2011, CGGC Limited made a successful interception in Tatay Hydropower Station.
Samdech Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, KEAT CHHON, Deputy Prime Minister, Suy Sem, Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Pan Guangxue, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia and Xiang Yongzhou, CGGC Vice President attended the ceremony.
Samdech Hun Sen addressed the ceremony and highly valued the construction and future development of Tatay project. He said that the project would not only help flood control, form a tourist area, provide job opportunities and enhance local people s income, but also improve Cambodia s power supply capability and safety and reduce electricity price, and would play a key role in the country s social and economic development and poverty eradication.
He also appreciated Chinese Government s all-along help and assistance and hoped more Chinese enterprises would involve in the economic construction of Cambodia.
Tatai Hydro Station is located in Thmo Bang about 40km northeast in Koh Kong, about 300km from the capital city Phnom Penh and 243km from the largest seaport of the country Sihanouk. The hydroelectric project has three 82000kw mixed flow water turbine generating unit with the total installed capacity of 246000kw and an annual output of 849 million kwh. With CGGC Limited as the general contractor, this is the largest hydro project undertaken by Chinese companies in Cambodia.
