Weichai Power held its 2005 business conference

Leaving the 10 billion turnover behind, motoring the future, Weichai Power held its 2005 business conference in the new industrial park on Jan. 22.

More than 2000 representatives of suppliers and agents from all over the country attended the meeting. Delegates retrospected the splendid achievements of cooperation among the three parties in 2004 and discussed the strategic cooperation direction under the new task and new situation.

The new industrial park looked grander and more magnificent in the fresh flowers, colorful flags and long slogans. In the no.1 building which acted as the main meeting hall, the conference began at 4 o clock in the afternoon.

Mr. Zhang Xiaoyu, president of the China Machinery Industry Federation, Mr. Yang Hongqi, president of the China Engineering Machinery Industry Association, Mr. Ni Hongjie, president of the China Internal Combustion Engine Industry Association, Mr. Bao Shengqing, president of the Chinese Association for Fishing Vessels and Finery Machinery, Mr. Li Shihao, director of the Urban Vehicle Expert Committee of the Science and Technology Division under the Ministry of Construction of China attended the meeting.

Mr. Tan Xuguang, chairman of the board of directors of Weichai Power, gave a speech on the meeting. He said the year 2004 was a year of great achievement in Weichai history. Three words, i.e., rapid, steady and good will give a precise summarization to last year s work. In other words, Weichai Power progresses rapidly, operates steadily and has a good developing potential. Evaluating last year s work, we can see four highlights in our operation. First, major economic targets of the company have been doubled in the past four years. Second, a breakthrough has been made in the reform and restructure work. Third, Weichai Power maintained its uprising momentum in a time when markets of heavy duty trucks and construction machines were undergoing a recession period . Last, the company develops its market and suits itself actively to policies and regulations of the country and progresses rapidly under the national macro control. The industry witnesses Weichai s great achievement. Leaders and friends of the associations, the end products producers, the agencies, the service centers and the suppliers give their full support to Weichai power. We believe that Weichai s tremendous achievements is the concerted efforts of all the Weichai staff, the agents and the suppliers. Every step of our progress concentrates all these people s sweat, wisdom and hard work.

Quoting an old saying Always Remember the Source of the Water While Drinking, Mr Tan said, we would never forget the old friends. Looking into the future, we would like to make more friends for win-win. We are friends forever. As the pacemaker of China internal combustion industry, Weichai Power fully knows its task and responsibility. Facing challenges, the only way to success is cooperation, innovation, development and win-win. Mr. Tan emphasized that it is a persevering pursue for Weichai People to keep paces with the world-advanced technology, lead the tide of Chinese power industry technology and forge a national power brand. Our targets and strategy for the next five years is to develop Weichai into a world first-grade general engine manufacturing base with strong competitive ability, whose products will cover the industries of heavy-duty trucks, construction machines, buses, ships, generating sets and agricultural machines. By these means, Weichai Power will develop with full wings in all the small, medium and big power diesel engines. In 2010 we will cooperate will one of the 500 most famous transnational enterprises to build a brand name both at domestic and all over the world. The year 2005 is our Band Year in which we will carry on the strategy of advanced technology and commit ourselves to promote new products with high technology. Today we show the EURO III and IV compliant Land King WP10/WP12, with total independent intellectual property and brand-new design concept. Till now, the new type of Weichai engine is at the absolute leading position in China s business vehicles and construction industries and therefore is deservedly the No 1. engine in China. In the first half of the year, a small amount of these engines will be put into the market. At the same time we will supply engines with WEVB technology (the exhaust brake technology) that have high technology and more competitive ability in the market. As we have put forward the strategy of developing into the world biggest general engine manufacturing base. In the coming five years, we will cooperate with one of the world most famous enterprises and build Weichai into a top rank enterprise whose products have wide output range, broad application, various types and world-advanced technology, an enterprise which is a real leader of Chinese internal combustion industry and one of the strongest power supplying enterprise in the world.

Mr. Tan stressed that competition among modern enterprises was that of talented personnel and corporate culture. We take establishing corporate culture and carrying out the human resource strategy as the core targets and make great efforts to build a top rank corporate culture, a top rank employee and a top rank sales team. By doing so we can obtain a stronger competing ability, maintain an everlasting developing advantage, create more benefits for the employee and agents, supply a more favorable platform for the suppliers and the industry chain and make more contribution to the economic development of Shandong Province and China.

Following Mr. Tan s speech, the releasing ceremony of Land King WP10 sample engine push the meeting to its climate. Right after Mr. Tan Xuguang, together with other five leaders of the industry associations, pressed a button of the general console.,characters of Starting From 10 Billion went into the sight of the attendants. Engine cases on two sides of the stage were lighted one by one and the first Euro III compliant WP10 sample engine rose slowly and steadily. To celebrate the birth of the Blue Motor Brand, flashes of pictures of WP10 appeared on the screen, fireworks lighted the meeting hall and the dancers began their dramatic dancing.

The operating general manager, Mr. Xu Xinyu, declared the Decision on Realization the Reward to The Agents of Vehicle and Construction Diesel Engines of 2004 and the Decision About the Support to Construction Machines Agents. Tens of agencies and hundreds of service stations were awarded for their excellent work. The technology general manager, Mr. Sun Shaojun and the marketing general manager, Mr. Zhang Quan delivered speeches on Products Plan of the Following Five Years and Realization of 2004 Sales Policies respectively.

At the end of the meeting, leaders from Weichai and other companies walked onto the stage, cheered to the success of the 2005 Weichai business conference.
