Weichai honored the Most Influential Enterprise

As the biggest enterprise of the Chinese internal combustion industry, Weichai Power Co. Ltd., owing to its excellent brand image and outstanding achievement, was honored the Most Influential Enterprise in 2004. It is also the only enterprise in the internal combustion industry to enjoy this honor.

The awarding ceremony was held in the Great Hall of the People on Jan.19, 2005. Organized by the China Enterprise Confederation and the China Entrepreneurs Association, result of the awards came to the surface by the nomination and poll made by economist, authorities of mass media, government officials as well as representatives of enterprises.

Mr. Chen Lantong, vice president of China Enterprise Confederation and also president of the China Entrepreneurs Association announced the results. Mr. Abulaiti Aburexiti, vice chairman of the Chinese People s Political Consultative Conference awarded the medal to Weichai Power. Mr. Tan Xuguang delivered a speech titled Establishing a Chinese Power Brand Name and Following the Internationalized Path on invitation.

Mr. Tan said, as the leader of China internal combustion industry and the wind sign of Chinese manufacturing industry, Weichai is shouldering the responsibility of reinvigorating the national power industry, establishing a brand name with overall independent intellectual property as well as promoting the manufacturing industry of Shandong province. For the past four years Weichai doubled its turnover annually to 10 billion yuan Rmb in 2004. Annual output of engines with 10 L displacement is the biggest in the world. In the following three years, Weichai will continue to progress in the way of new-type-industrialization, develop its main business in a scientific and developing viewpoint and make important contribution to the national economic development.

Mr. , vice chairman of the Chinese People s Political Consultative Conference and Mr. Wan Guoquan, the former vice chairman of the Chinese People s Political Consultative Conference and other central government leaders had interviews respectively with Mr. Tan Xuguang before the awarding ceremony. They also took photos with all the representatives of the awarded enterprises.
