Weichai Power held its first employee conference

The first session of the First Employee Conference of Weichai Power Co.,Ltd was held in Weichai Cultural Palace on March 5, 2005. Mr. Tan Xuguang, chairman of the board of directors delivered a report titled Quickening The Reform Work Fulfilling The Developing Targets Striving Hard to Realize The Grand Blueprint of The Company.

Retrospecting the achievement of 2004, Mr. Tan Xuguang depicted the future development plan in five aspects and put forward six new requests for the whole company.

2004 is a year in which the company has undergone important renovation, boosted the competitiveness remarkably, advanced rapidly and achieved splendid accomplishments in every aspect. Mr. Tan said, under the leadership of the company party committee and the company management team, the staff cooperated closely with each other, worked with great efforts and realized the 100% increment in every economic target once more. We further established our international image, consolidated the leadership in the market, pushed the technical innovation continuously, strengthened the technological predominance, improved the whole management competence and further promoted the enforcing power of the company. This year Weichai Power became the first enterprise in China internal combustion engine industry to be listed on Hongkong stock market and the first enterprise producing and selling 140,000 single-brand diesel engines annually. And also in the same year Weichai group had become the first enterprise with an annual turnover exceeding 10 billion yuan Rmb.

Mr. Tan said, in the following years, Weichai Power will use the Landking WP6 WP10 WP12 as the new generation of diesel engine, realize the goal of keeping pace with the world advanced technology, improve international cooperation, implement the collaboration with the world famous brand and accomplish a bigger leap both in sales income and export. Therefore we must work out a perfect strategy to ensure the sustainable development for a fairly long future. The overall principle for Weichai Power in 2005 is One Center, Five Breakthroughs and Two Goals. The One Center means incessant innovation, business carving out and rapid development. The Five Breakthroughs stands for the breakthroughs of brand name, science and technology, international market, cost control and the human resources optimization. The Two Targets are about the increase of turnover and gross capital.

Tan Xuguang said that today s Weichai had stepped into an important historical development period. It s our obligatory responsibility to carry on the past, open a way for future and speed up the development. He called for all the employee of Weichai Power to unite more closely, further unbind the mind, accept the new idea, keep a firm faith for success, make great efforts to fulfill all the targets and strive hard for the faster development of the company.

During the meeting, Mr. Sun Shaojun, the technology general manager, delivered a report about Innovation on Science and Technology. 78 science and technology professionals were awarded for their contribution to the company.
