Weichai Power prepares for bus competition

The preparative meeting for the Second National Bus Competition was held in the Fuhua Hotel on Jan.25, 2005. After the successful First National Bus Competition in 2004, Weichai Power becomes again the undertaker of the competition.

More than 100 delegates from China s bus industry and media all over the country attended this meeting. Leaders of the Company addressed on the meeting. As the undertaker of the most important competition events in the bus industry, Weichai Power drew broad attention and received great praise during the last competition in which the company won eight medals for its outstanding achievements. After one year s effort, Weichai Power has made further progress in the technology improvement of bus engine, and also developed a new type of diesel engine for large power buses. Boasting low fuel consumption and low noise, the new-type engine not only meets the Euro II emission standards but also adopts the personality design concept which has greatly helped to ease the operation and maintenance. And it consequently put its name on the map.

After its successful cooperation with Suzhou Kinglong, Weichai Power began to install its engines in buses of the Zhengzhou Yutong, Xiamen Golden Dragon, Jinan Commercial Vehicle of the China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co., Ltd. and Dongfeng Hangqi. As a result, market share of Weichai Power in the 11-12 meters bus industry rises rapidly. Undertaking the second national bus competition this year will by all means help Weichai Power in broading the company s bus market.

During the meeting, delegates visited the new industrial park, 615 Factory and the Science and Technology Exhibition Center of Weichai Power and Weifang Weichai Deutz Co., Ltd. Weichai Power s great development momentum has always been the focus of their discussion, in which the delegates expressed their positive attitude to Weichai s entering into the bus market.

The Second National Bus Competition will be held in Beijing in the end of July this year when Weichai Power will display its new series of bus engines.
