ZTE: Independent R&D to Promote TD-LTE Network

During Shanghai World Expo, ZTE, jointly with China Mobile, will build a TD-LTE operation network in the News Center of the World Expo, providing high speed wireless network service for global journalists and stuffs.

Due to the fact that ZTE s TD-LTE network is basing on the mature uniform platform, therefore, the base station can be updated from the TD-SCDMA mode to TD-LTE mode or TD-SCDMA/TD-LTED dual mode through software updating.

On the smooth evolution of TD-LTE, ZTE and China Mobile have conducted extensive and deep cooperative research for the evolutional strategy of TD-LTE combining the current status of the TD-SCDMA network, and at the same time put forward smooth evolution plan for TD-LTE base station etc. carrying out deep research for the future integration of TD-LTE set network and multi-network.

Jiang Shuo considers the bottleneck of the current TD-LTE industrial chain is at the terminal chip. ZTE has extended many efforts on the supporting and promotion of the development of TD-LTE. The terminal chips that ZTE developed itself have made considerable progresses.

In addition, ZTE will continue to strengthen the strategic cooperation with China Mobile and other operators, establishing a cooperation mode integrating innovative technology subject study, technology discussion, international expansion and other methods. Currently, China Mobile is promoting to establish project work group for TD-LTE international industry promotion associating with each manufacturers and ZTE will also join in.

ZTE said LTE terminal firstly promoted the data card products in 2010 and then promote the LTE module products. In 2011, the company will make better integration of 3G and 4G through promoting smaller terminals with data card simultaneously supporting three systems.
