Space Vegetables Expected to be Available in 2012

Gansu Space-Breeding Engineering Center conducted first generation select breeding of 87 vegetables which were space induced along with satellite Shenzhou-7. Positive effects are observed in some mutations, according to the authoritative of the center.
Select breeding and hybrid breeding will be conducted in 2 years involving 4 generations. Space vegetable is expected to enter the market in 2012.
Currently the vegetable seeds are grown in green house in the Gansu Space-Breeding Engineering Center which is located in Tianshui, Gansu province.
