China's CPI up 2.2% in Q1

China's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, increased by 2.2 percent in the first quarter from the previous year, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) announced today.

CPI growth in March was 2.4 percent year-on-year.
