China's four biggest banks contracted new loans of 265.8 billion yuan ($38.93 billion) in March, making their total lending for the first quarter of this year 1.04 trillion yuan, Century Weekly reported Monday.
Agricultural Bank of China extended 275.4 billion yuan in new loans in the first three months of this year, the highest among the Big Four.
New loans at Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Bank of China and China Construction Bank amounted to 272 billion, 265.2 billion and 225.2 billion yuan in the first quarter, respectively.
