Chinese shares closed higher at midday Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.94 percent, or 26.74 points, to 2,886.68 in the morning session.
The Shenzhen Component Index added 1.21 percent, or 149.63 points, to close the morning session at 12,557.28.
