Chinese shares closed higher at midday Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.26 percent, or 7.41 points, to 2,835.7 in the morning session.
The Shenzhen Component Index rose 1.42 percent, or 171.58 points, to close the morning session at 12,233.99.
