June 1-US-based VanDeMark Chemical has opened an office in West Yorkshire in the UK. Dr Patricia Hughes has been appointed head of sales and business development for the office, and will be responsible for market development, sales and customer service throughout Europe.

Patricia Hughes is highly qualified to manage the new VanDeMark office and help us expand sales and services in Europe, he added.
Founded in 1951, VanDeMark manufactures phosgene-based products and intermediates used in agrochemical and pharmaceutical preparations, polymers and plastics, coatings, sealants and adhesives, and dyes and pigments. The company offers a variety of standard products and also develops proprietary products at laboratory and plant production levels.
Hughes joins VanDeMark having acted in a business advisory role since 2005.
