The world's biggest LCD makers, Samsung and LG Display, now say they have received official approval from Chinese authorities to build 6 billion US dollars worth of flat screen plants in the fast growing TV market.
Samsung plans to build an LCD plant in Suzhou, with a $2.3 billion US dollar investment.
LG Display is planning to spend 4 billion dollars to build a plant in Guangzhou.
Industry insiders are now forecasting that China is going to become the world's biggest LCD TV market in a few years time.
Most companies have so far only kept back-end assembly lines in China to protect their advanced technologies.
But those concerns are now being over-run by the potential that the Chinese market has.
