DuPont and Invista settle some of their differences

Write: Waverly [2011-05-20]
p>Three law suits being disputed in the USA by DuPont and Invista have been settled, according to a brief statement published today by the two companies.

The actions, dating back to 2008, involve polymers technology, adiponitrile (ADN) technology and disputes related to existing supply agreements. The statement says that "the settlement resolves litigation over supply and technology agreements between DuPont's Performance Polymers business and Invista's Intermediates business dating back to Invista's separation from DuPont and sale to subsidiaries of Koch Industries in 2004. The settlement clarifies the respective rights and obligations of the companies, forming a strong foundation for both to focus on creating long-term value for their customers and the nylon 66 industry."

No further terms of the agreement have been disclosed. Nor is there any specific mention in the statement of the action Invista started against DuPont over claims of poor safety and environmental procedures in the plants which it bought from DuPont. And there is no mention of the litigation against Rhodia, which Invista claimed conspired with DuPont to steal trade secrets.
