China: Shandong Haihua Group to restart catalytic unit, coker end of Sep

p>Shandong Haihua Group plans to restart an 800,000-mt/yr catalytic unit and a 500,000-mt/yr coker at the end of September, a source with the refinery said on Sep 20.

The refinery will cut the supply of bituminous feedstock after restarting the coker, according to the source. It is producing about 1,500mt of bituminous feedstock a day.

With the catalytic unit back on stream, the refinery is estimated to produce 60-80mt of slurry a day. Increased supply will probably add to bearish sentiment as market fundamental is already softening in Shandong.

Haihua Group is located in Weifang city, acquired by CNOOC in September 2009. It has 1-mil mt of annual toping capacity.
