p>Toluene and mixed xylenes trades late Thursday showed a widening delta between the two aromatics, US sources said.

September nitration grade toluene was heard done at 266 cents/gal ($809/mt) while September 843-grade mixed xylenes traded at 272 cents/gal ($824/mt).

But sources said the North American market primarily focused on the low bromine 5211-grade, which typically carried a slight premium.

Thursday's assessed level for September toluene was 271 cents/gal while MX was at 273 cents/gal.

Additional transaction details including counter-parties were not immediately available.

Late Thursday after the deals, 5211-grade MX was bid at 272 cents/gal against an offer at 285 cents/gal.

By Friday there was an MX buy idea at 270 cents/gal for September against no offer.
