The Polyurethanes 2010 Technical Conference in conjunction with UTECH North America Exhibition will take place on October 11-13, 2010 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. This year s conference will bring together major polyurethane enterprises such as Bayer MaterialScience, Chemtura, Albemarle Corporation, Lanxess, Air Products and Honeywell.
UTECH North America 2007, the very first such event held in the NAFTA Region, was a great success. Almost 130 participating companies from 14 countries showcased their products and services to an international audience of around 2400 trade visitors from around 50 different countries, including the 975 delegates attending the conference.
While there are clear signs that 2009 will be a very difficult year for all sectors and all geographic regions, as the effects of the global economic crisis continue to bite, there are some bright spots as far as the polyurethanes sector is concerned. In a period of recession, energy efficiency and sustainability remain high on the agenda for the polyurethanes sector in North America, where recent building code changes have increased the insulation requirements for buildings. Meanwhile, some experts point out that American polyurethane industry is in the process of recovery. The host is confident about the success of this year s conference.
