p>Shenzhen City in South China's Guangdong Province did not put into effect GB IV automotive gasoline standard as scheduled on Oct 1, a survey found.

The Shenzhen municipal government is yet to release document on implementation of GB IV automotive gasoline standard and there is no timetable at the moment, a source with Sinopec Shenzhen said.

The saying was echoed by a source with PetroChina Shenzhen, which added PetroChina's subsidiary petrol stations in Shenzhen has yet finished replacement of GB IV gasoline.

Both of the two companies have injected GB IV gasoline into inventories and pegged wholesale prices flat with nearby Guangzhou City, according to the sources.

Market sources were pessimistic on implementation of GB IV automotive gasoline standard in Shenzhen before the end of this year.

Three state-owned oil giants Sinopec, PetroChina and CNOOC will not likely sell GB IV gasoline at prices flat with GB III fuel in Shenzhen without formal document from the local government, the sources said.

GB IV vehicle-use gasoline became available in Guangzhou, the capital city of Guangdong Province, from this August, three months before the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games, although the Guangzhou municipal government has not issued document to set prices for the fuel.

Shenzhen will host the World University Games in August 2011.

GB IV fuel standards require gasoline and gasoil with sulfur content at 50ppm. Under GB III fuel standards, gasoline content is 150ppm and gasoil is 350ppm.
In China, Beijing and Shanghai have already implemented GB IV fuel standards so far.
