Yingkou Jiafu Petrochemical Co Ltd, an independent refinery based in Northeast China's Liaoning Province, was in talking with potential buyers for selling its oil refining facilities and oil tanks, a refinery source revealed, without elaborating further.
This selling might include an 800,000mt/yr coker, a 1-mil-mt/yr crude distillation unit and 130,000-cubic-meter oil tanks, said an industry source who contacted with the refinery on the issue.
The refinery was forced to shut down on feedstock shortage and remained inactive since 2008, a marketer said.
It used to be a major importer of straight-run fuel oils and key consumer of home-made residues in Northeast China.
