On April 2, Jinan Department of Traffic Police launched an intensive action on punishment of severe violation of the traffic laws, with the aim to further regulate severe violation of the traffic laws, keep high pressure on drunk driving and traffic violations of trucks and muck cars, thus to create a nice road traffic environment.
550 policemen, 120 prowl cars from the districts, counties and expressways were dispatched, 65 check stations set up and 20 unlawful acts of drunk driving punished, among whom 6 were drunk driving and 5 of them were detained that day. The traffic department explained that along with the implementation of the new regulations that drunk driving for one time would be deducted 12 points, the punishment for drunk driving, overload of trucks, as well as driving without license would be conducted according to the upper limit.
