Kuqa Meets Flood Discharge
Since July 29th, the rainstorm in northern mountainous area of Kuqa County has caused mountain torrents. Kezil Reservoir timely opened the sluice to release floodwater. But this increased the pressure to Yingdaya River and Weigan River at the lower reaches and affected farmland, houses and roads in surrounding areas. Now, Kuqa County actively took measures to fight against the released floodwater.
By now, the staffs fighting against floods in these areas have numbered over 50,000. Loading machines, excavators and other large machines were also used to consolidate the dyke. Persons are patrolling along the dyke for alarming around the clock.
