The year of 2009 was extremely difficult for our city s export trade business. However, under the correct leadership of the municipal Party committee and the municipal government and with the endeavor of the whole city, our city s export trade steady recovered. In the year of 2009, the total volume of foreign trade reached 1.11 billion US dollars, with a year-on-year decline of 12.4% though, including 935 million US dollars in export trade and 176 million US dollars in import trade, which in a year-on-year base suffered from a drop of 9.3% and 25.8% respectively. Despite of its negative growth in export trade, it was yet 4.5% higher than the average provincial level, ranking among the best cities in Zhejiang province. The export trade of our city took a larger market share in both Zhejiang province and the whole country.
Regional Analysis:
Through enhancing the exploiting of international market, the export trade of many counties (regions) in Lishui gained a growth even in the international economic downfall. For instance, Qingyuan, Liandu, Yunhe and the urban area of Lishui achieved a growth of 131.3%, 57.9%, 21.8% and 11.2% respectively.
Market Analysis:
The whole city s export to EU increased by 9.5%. The export market further expanded to over 150 countries (and regions).
Analysis on Export Enterprises:
Cultivation of effective export enterprises was apparently quickened. During the year of 2009, additional 128 enterprises in our city began to deal with export business and the products of 455 enterprises entered international market.
Analysis on Export Products:
Agricultural products achieved a year-on-year growth of 32%, including a growth by 43.4% in mushroom, 17.9% in chemical products, 9.8% in craftwork of light industry, and in particular, 35.4% in toy export.
