Spain has condemned the recent deadly bomb attacks in Iraq and called on the groups fighting each other to reach an agreement for national reconciliation, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement Wednesday.
The death and suffering caused by the attacks, "make the outlook for peace in Iraq ever more difficult," the ministry said.
The Spanish government expressed its condolences and its hope for solidarity to the government and people of Iraq as well as the families of the victims.
"Spain reiterates its most forthright condemnation of all terrorist actions," the statement said.
Late Tuesday, four suicide car bombs apparently targeting residents from Iraq's Yazidi religious minority ripped through Yazidi residential compounds in Sinjar, leaving at least 500 people dead and 375 more injured.
The Yazidis are primarily ethnic Kurds and mostly live near Mosul, capital of Nineveh province.
