According to the latest news from Zhejiang Meteorological Observatory, our province has witnessed a succession of sweltering weather since August 10 due to the powerful subtropical high pressure. On August 12, except on the islands on the sea, the daily highest temperature fell somewhere between 38 and 40 in other areas across the province, among which the highest temperature in 28 counties (cities) topped 39 , the highest temperature in such counties (cities) as Anji, Xiaoshan, Jiashan and Yuyan exceeded 40 and the highest temperature in Anji hit a record high at 40.9 .
8 counties (cities) in total issued red alert for high temperature and 23 counties (cities) issued orange alert for high temperature. According to the forecast from Zhejiang Meteorological Observatory, heat wave will linger in the forthcoming 3 days with the highest temperature reaching 38 to 40 .
