Statistics from the Survey Office of the National Bureau of Statistics in Zhejiang show that Zhejiang s Consumer Price Index (CPI) in July rose by 4.1% year-on-year, 0.3 percentage points higher than the previous month. In the first 7 months this year, the growth rate of CPI in July is only second to 4.2% in May and it is the second time that the growth rate has exceeded 4% this year.
It is learnt that floods in North China and sweltering weather in middle July contribute to a hike in the price of fresh vegetables pork. The increase in the price of agricultural products is the leading factor for the fact that Zhejiang s CPI hit 4% in July.
