Zhejiang released the first report on People s livelihood

Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Statistics released the 2009 Report on People s Livelihood Index and Appraisal in Zhejiang recently, and became the first province in China to release a report on people s livelihood.

The report indicates that in 2009 in Zhejiang the comprehensive index of people s livelihood is 94.13, a drop of 0.73 point compared with 2008. The improvement index is 111.40 (relative to the base period of 2008), marking a noticeable improvement in people s livelihood. However, with the rising of people s overall livelihood standard,the improvement showed a moderating trend, with a drop of 2.69 points from the first six months. The residents satisfaction rate is 68.23, a rise of 2.21 points over the previous year. Relative to the base period of 2007, the improvement index of people s livelihood in 2009 is 127.09.
