The 5th World Expo Forum to be held in Shaoxing

It was learned on August 30th that the 5th forum of Shanghai World Expo themed Economic Transition and Urban-Rural Interaction , jointly organized by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the Executive Committee of Shanghai World Expo, the World Bank and the Shaoxing Municipal Government, will be launched in Shaoxing from September 9th to Septermber 10th.

This forum aims at exploring the opportunities and challenges confronting the urban economy in an era of transition as well as the prospects of the sustainable economic development in an era of urbanization. By August 30th, more than 50 government and international organization representatives as well as renowned economists, socialists and entrepreneurs from over 10 countries have confirmed their plans to deliver speeches or participate in discussions at the forum. Among them are Nobel Laureate in Economics, Vice President of the World Bank, former Prime Minister of Italy and other world-famous experts and political leaders.
