On the afternoon of Aug. 25, Mr. Xia Baolong, Vice Secretary of CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, met in Hangzhou with Kao Koong-lian, Vice Chairman and Secretary-general of the Taiwan-based Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF), and his delegation visiting Taiwan businessmen in eastern Mainland China and the World Expo, as well as a media delegation.
Mr. Xia extended warm welcome to Mr. Kao and his party and briefed them with the economic and social development of Zhejiang. Recently the Association for Relations across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS) and SEF signed the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA). Zhejiang will continue to conscientiously implement the policy measures adopted by the Central Committee of the CPC to benefit the Taiwan compatriots and provide even better service for Taiwan businessmen to invest in Zhejiang.
Mr. Kao thanked Mr. Xia for his meeting. He expected that the Taiwan businessmen in Zhejiang would grasp the opportunities, have sustainable success for their businesses, and make more contribution to the economic cooperation between the two sides of the Straits.
