Zhou Guofu, chairman of Zhejiang Provincial CPPCC met with the President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, George Richards, his wife and his delegation in Hangzhou on September 14th.
Zhou Guofu extended a warm welcome to the guests and briefed them on the economic and social development in Zhejiang and how the province has tackled the impact of international financial crisis. During the 30 years of diplomatic relations, China and Trinidad and Tobago have maintained successful communication and cooperation in every field. Zhejiang values the relations with Trinidad and Tobago and is willing to expand communication, and promote a mutually-beneficial cooperation that will be broader, deeper and more enduring. What s more, the Provincial Government also encourages Zhejiang businessmen to go to Trinidad and Tobago to invest and open businesses. He believed that the President s visit will result in a better understanding of Zhejiang, which will contribute to the creation of a better environment for future development.
George Richards showed his gratitude to the reception, saying that Zhejiang is such a beautiful and vigorous province. He also hoped that the two parties will broaden communication in new fields and thus obtain significant results.
