2010 International Forum on Confucianism with the theme of Confucianism and Spirit of the Times opened on September 27. More than 50 experts on Confucianism from 7 foreign countries such as the U.S., the U. K., Japan and South Korea and from many famous universities and social science research institutions of China arrived in Quzhou, researching and discussing the practical meanings of Confucianism in current times.
With Confucianism and Spirit of the Times as the theme of the forum, experts would have academic exchange on special topics such as The Essence of Confucianism and Its Roles, Functions and Significance in Forming the Spirit of the Times, and would announce and issue Quzhou Proclamation of 2010 China Quzhou International Forum on Confucianism.
Quzhou is famed for its Queli in the Southeast and Confucius in the South . Quzhou holds an international forum on Confucianism every two years ever since 2006 by inviting experts on Confucianism from home and abroad to Quzhou to conduct researches on Confucianism, especially the Southern Confucius Cultural and Spiritual relics. By so doing, Quzhou expects to win its initial success in bringing Southern Confucius Culture into fame and actively explore a new approach to further promote the prosperity of its cultural development.
