September 22 will be 2010 Car Free Day in Shaoxing. Between 7:30 am and 4:30 pm during that day, traffic control will be exercised in sections of roads or streets in parts of the districts, while buses will have priority over other vehicles.
During the Car Free Day, Party and government organizations, enterprises and public institutions at all levels will stop use of any vehicle except in case of emergent or vital official businesses. In addition, departments concerned will advocate to the public traveling green by riding bicycles, taking buses, or even walking to work instead of driving private cars on that day.
