The information from Jiaxing Customs shows that the duties levied by the Customs amounted to RMB 302 million in February, a rise of 72.22% compared with the same period of last year, suggesting an increasingly active trend of exports and imports of enterprises in Jiaxing.
The growth, according to the analysis of Jiaxing Customs, to a large extent, results from the rise of quantity and value of imports. E.g. the values of import terephthalic acid, ethylene, petroleum asphalt and waste paper increased by 114.82%, 154.52%, 47.7% and 92.42% respectively.
At the same time, the revenue of customs duties reached RMB 548 million in Jiaxing in the first two months owing to the increasingly active trend of imports and exports of enterprises, a growth of 54.09% over the same period of last year. The growth of freights and customs revenue, according to Jiaxing Customs, is also stimulated by its great support to the development of branch line in Jiaxing port, the expansion of bounded logistics in export-oriented processing areas, the implementation of new monitoring policy on processing trade, providing convenience to cargoes of processing trade for home use, and the clearance reform of local declaration and selection release of cargoes in Jiaxing based on careful study and pilot operation.
