During the "Eleventh Five-Year" period, Jiaxing has implemented steadfastly the strategy of integrating into Shanghai and developing highway, railway and waterway in line with Shanghai, which has consolidated function of Jiaxing in Yangtze delta as a transport hub. At the same time, Jiaxing has proactively taken the industrial radiattion and achieved great complementary development in the above three areas.As a result, sharing a large number of livelihood projects, fully aligned with the functions of cities in the share, the happiness index of Jiaxing citizens has increased significantly.
The high-speed railway between Shanghai and Hangzhou open on Oct 26, 2010, has not shortened the relative distance between cities, but also has expanded the scope of work and daily life of Jiaxing citizens. the official opening of the Shanghai-Hangzhou high-speed rail, and its impact not only changes the distance between cities, but also make people gradually expand the scope of work and life.
However, the opening of the high-speed railway is only one of ways which have promoted the integrating Jiaxing into Shanghai and Hangzhou in the last 5 years. Druing "Eleventh Five-Year", approximately 10 transport corridors sponsored by the central government and provincial government are are all intersected in Jiaxing.
A comprehensive network composed of the Shanghai-Kunming Railway, Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway, Hang Pu Highway, Shenjiahu Expressway, the National Road 320, Hangzhou Bay Bridge, Jiashao channel, Qianjiang channel has taken initial shape.At the end of "Eleventh Five-Year, the total mileage of Jiaxing transport network was 10,000 km, of which nearly8,000 km was highway, 100 km was railway and 2000 km was rated waterways.
In addition, there are 27 coastal ports and 1550 river ports respectively, with an annual capacity of 99.75 million ton.Eighteen lines are linked with Shanghai and eleven with Hangzhou.Consequently, the coverage and accessibility transport network went up rapidly. Improvement in passenger flow, speed of logistics, convenience, safety and reliability is obvious.
With the accelerated development of transportation construction, integration of industry in Jiaxing has quickened its pace.During "Eleventh Five-Year", governmental agencies made effort in helping enterprises in Jiaxing be conscious of their position, trying their best to make the best products, though they were not in the leading industry, as a result, the three major industries in Jiaxing have made great progress.
