Yesterday (November 25), in the fourth session of the joint mayors of Hangzhou unban economic circle held in Shaoxing, the newly officially approved Planning for the Development of Hangzhou Unban Economic Circle has drawn up a blue print for the future development of the four cities: Hangzhou, Jiaxing, Huzhou and Shaoxing. And Jiaxing will become one of the subsidiary centers of the economic circle.
According to the Planning, Hangzhou, the core area, is the center of Hangzhou urban economic circle ; Huzhou, Jiaxing and Shaoxing are the subsidiary centers; the six cities (counties) near Hangzhou: Deqing, Anji, Haining, Tongxiang, Shaoxing and Zhuji are the close areas; and such cities (counties) as Changxing, Jiashan, Pinghu, Haiyan, Shangyu, Shengzhou and Xinchang are the linkage areas.
The cities (counties) in the region developing in group are able to enhance the comprehensive strength of the region by making joint efforts and cooperation in planning, traffic interconnection, building market, promoting industries, sharing brand, and constructing environment.
In the Planning, the common goal for all the cities (counties) concerned lies in jointly promoting industries, investing in infrastructure, protecting environment, sharing culture and creating brand. The focus in the future industry development of the circle will be put on the five pillar cornerstone industrial clusters, i.
e. electronic information, textile & garment, equipment manufacturing, new industry and food industry; on the four growth industrial clusters: new energy, environmental protection, new materials and biopharmaceutical industries; on the modern service industries, such as culture creativity, financial services commodities interflow, intermediary service, real estate service and so on; and on the high-efficiency ecological agriculture.
High-cost or pollution-causing industries will be limited and eliminated.
In the Planning, Schemes for Rail Transit Network of Hangzhou Urban Economic Circle will be formulated. Some schemes for the inter-city rail transit will be initiated, such as the Hangzhou-Haining Line and Hangzhou-Tongxiang Line. The day is drawing near when people in Jiaxing take the subway.
As for education cooperation, the professional committee of special education in Hangzhou will take the lead, providing special education services for the four cities including Jiaxing and helping them enhance the level of special education.
