The Boao International Tourism Forum held a plenary session Sunday morning in Sanya, endorsing the Hainan Tourism Declaration 2010, which documents the achievements of this year's event.
In the declaration released by Tan Li, vice governor of Hainan, participants of the forum agree that tourism is the most dynamic and promising emerging industry, which can create a lot of jobs, has a high labor coefficient and produce good overall benefits.
They pledge to conduct joint research on policies and measures to promote the development of the tourism industry, take practical measures to speed up the development of tourism as a pillar industry, create good environment and conditions for the development of the industry and work together to contribute the lasting prosperity and stability of the world.
The Hainan provincial government, the host of the forum, pledged in the declaration to build Boao International Tourism Forum into an international convention and exhibition brand and expects the forum to strengthen exchanges in the industry, promote tourism and culture, and contribute to multi-layer and multi-channel exchanges and dialogues between tourist destinations, between different governments and among enterprises.
Keynote speakers at the plenary session include Liu Yunshan, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Taleb Rifai, the secretary general of the United Nations World Tourism Organization, Luo Baoming, Governor of Hainan, Cai Wu, China's Minister of Culture and Jean-Claude Baumgarten, President of World Travel and Tourism Council, and Shao Qiwei, director of China National Tourism Administration.
