Secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee Wei Liucheng, who has been attending the 10th Global Travel and Tourism Summit in Beijing, met with WTTC president & CEO Jean-Claude Baumgarten on the afternoon of May 25, 2010.

It was the third time that the two sides met after the State Council of China decided to build Hainan into an International Tourism Destination at the end of 2009. Wei Liucheng expressed his congratulation on the opening of the 10th Global Travel and Tourism Summit. Wei said that Hainan is willing to enhance the cooperation with WTTC and other international famous tourism agencies, thus to promote the internationalization of Hainan tourism industry.

The 10th Global Travel and Tourism Summit opened in Beijing on May 25 with "World's Leading Industry - Reaching New Frontiers" as the theme, and will last until May 27.
The summit is the world's highest-level gathering of travel and tourism industry leaders, aiming to unlock the industry's significant potential for sustainable development and economic growth across the globe.
