Guangdong's foreign trade up more than 30 pct

South China's Guangdong Province generated 627.28 billion U.S. dollars in foreign trade in the first 10 months of the year, a rise of 30.1 percent over the same period in 2009, the local customs house said Wednesday.

The amount, which accounted for 26.2 percent of China's total foreign trade, included 360.05 billion U.S. dollars of exports, up 26.7 percent year on year, and 267.23 billion dollars of imports, up 35 percent.

Guangdong's leading trade partners in the period were Hong Kong, the United States, the European Union, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, Japan, as well as Taiwan.

New- and high-tech products made up 136.99 billion U.S. dollars of Guangdong's total exports, up 27.3 percent year on year, while toys accounted for 6.02 billion dollars, up 29 percent year on year.
