Detective who sold clients' personal info arrested

Police in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, recently arrested a private detective who allegedly traded private information of more than 3 million people on the Internet.

The accused, surnamed Liu, demanded his clients, most of whom wanted their spouses followed, reveal all personal details about their husbands or wives and fed the information in a file.

Liu also ordered his employees to buy the registration information of car owners and cell phone users and check-in records of hotel guests in order to boost his business.

Following his arrest, Liu confessed to selling the personal information of his clients' spouses for 10,000 yuan ($1,500) each time.
