Shenzhen exports reached a record high of US$22.73 billion in November, a year-on-year 41.6 percent growth, according to Shenzhen Customs on December 14.
It was the first time the city had seen a monthly export volume exceeding US$20 billion.
Driven by record exports in November, the city s total foreign trade volume in the first 11 months also achieved a record high of US$308.28 billion, surpassing the total foreign trade volume of 2008.
The city realized a trade surplus of US$52.62 billion in the first 11 months, a 10.8 percent increase over the same period last year.
General foreign trade last month stood at US$11.08 billion, the first time the general trade volume has exceeded US$10 billion for a single month.
Hong Kong remained Shenzhen s biggest trade partner in the first 11 months of this year. Bilateral trade between the neighboring cities reached US$74.46 billion, growing by 38.2 percent over the same period last year.
Meanwhile, Shenzhen s foreign trade with the ASEAN, the United States and the EU all experienced growth.
Mechanical and electrical products dominated exports during the period, growing by 27.3 percent to US$138.69 billion.
The outstanding performance in foreign trade was also reflected in the logistics industry, which realized added value of over US$61.1 billion in the first three quarters, growing by over 12 percent over the same period last year.
Active market exploration by private enterprises paid off with foreign trade growing by 48.6 percent to US$68.28 billion.
However, the yuan appreciation would further drive up the cost of exported products, having a negative impact on the exploration of international markets, the customs said.
